Search for Wild Horses PDF Print E-mail

I'm intrigued by search engines and what people search for on the internet and, in particular, how people arrive at my sites. I recently moved this site to a new server and totally restructured the content and did not put up a lot of the content I had at the old site so in monitoring the error logs to make sure everything was running well I would see all the "file not found" errors that people were getting because the search engines still had old content listed that was not on the new site or was in a different location. A month ago I started getting a huge number of hits from people who had searched for "mom's videos". I used to have a very silly little video we made at my mother's birthday party up at the old site. It was called "Mom's Video" One week I had over 300 file-not-found errors for that file. They came from all over the world. Curious to see why that was such a popular search term I ran the search myself and - well - it turns out the "mom's videos" is a popular keyword for pron sites (you know what I mean). Sigh.

OK - well, I'm getting less hits for that though there are still a few but the next most popular one is "Wild Horses". I used to have up a live recording of our jazz group - the Bernie Petteway Trio - playing the popular Stones tune - "Wild Horses" and it seems like this one is legit. Folks from all over the world are searching for mp3's of that song (oh, probably not our specific version of it....). It seems to be especially popular in India. So, back by popular demand is the Bernie Petteway Trio (Bernie Petteway - guitar, Ed Butler - drums, Robbie Link - bass) playing Wild Horses. (oh, yeah, we'll be at the Pittsboro General Store Cafe Thurday Aug. 3rd)

Bernie Petteway Trio: Bernie Petteway - guitar, Ed Butler - drums, Robbie Link - bass. General Store Cafe, Pittsboro, NC Live June 2, 2005 I put this up on the new site because it's one of the biggest "file not found" errors - Many people are doing Google searches for "Wild Horses" and getting referred to my old site. Not sure why this search is popular but it's coming from all over the world. It's either got something to do with p*rn or this is still a popular song after all these years. Anyway - it's our version of it - big file - 7 minutes long (longer than the original!). Just a mic in front of the band and a mini-disc recorder.

Had a nice morning out on the Eno River with my daughter Alicia100_1162

Saw the usual great blue herons, the river was higher than I expected. Found these sweet smelling flowers

I'm testing a music player/podcaster called Loudblog (integrated here with LoudBot). Seems to work just fine! Picking up the RSS2.0 feed from this site will load any new music into your podcast reader as well as new text content into a newsreader. A straight podcast only feed can be had here. Just paste the URL into your podcast reader. Next project is to start putting soundclips up. Better than words!

While you're waiting PDF Print E-mail

Update: All links to old site are now inactive.

Still putting new furniture in the new home on the web, here. Moving things around and trying to decide on the right color for the walls, etc. I'm still playing with new software for the performance calendar and posting pictures and sound clips so until I've had time to get it all right I'm not putting any content up. Just in case you were still looking for Karen's pics from the CHHS Orchestra Austria trip or those priceless family photos or if you're one of the very, very few people searching for mom's video who wasn't actually looking for a po*n site or if you were just dying to see those old pictures of me - they're still up for a while at the old site which just has a new name. Eventually that will all go away. But you can still find the Bernie Petteway Trio playing Wild Horses and other gems there for a little while. More and better music files coming here soon! Might even dip into podcasting since I'm better at notes than at words.

See you soon.
