Bach Sinfonia

The Bach Sinfonia is a Maryland-based organization dedicated to excellence in performance and public education of Baroque and Classical music. Now in its 15th season, Sinfonia presents an annual series of unique concerts, open dress rehearsals, and listening lectures of music from the eighteenth century. Sinfonia strives to create programs that differ from the standard classical music concert with performances that aren’t just listening entertainments but are also learning experiences.

All concerts are on period instruments — experience early music at its best.

Performers are specialists in early-music performance drawn from the metropolitan area and nationally.

Soloists are among today’s most recognized national and international early-music performers.

Techniques and style are painstakingly researched to develop interpretations that are bold and fresh.

Concert Going as an Enlightening Experience

Each historically informed performance is programmed on a theme chosen to inform the listener about the genres, sociology, and performance practices of the eighteenth century.

Concerts are interspersed with musical and historical discussions aimed at helping further audience appreciation and understanding of the music.
