Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna

Light Eternal

Lauridsen Lux Aeterna with other choral selections

Lux Aeterna, by well-known American choral composer Morten Lauridsen, blends sections of the Requiem Mass with three traditional Latin canticles to create a unified piece centered on the theme of light. Joining the Choral Society are choirs from the Durham School of the Arts. School of the Arts choral directors have chosen a variety of pieces specifically for this concert that set to music writings by notable individuals such as St. Francis of Assisi, Emily Brontë, and Helen Keller.
