Fillin’ in again for Robert T.

The North Carolina Viol Consort, newly formed by renowned viol da gamba expert and UNC–Chapel Hill faculty member Brent Wissick at the request of Chamber Music Raleigh, makes its public debut with an immersive concert of baroque music. NCMA Event Info  

I’ll be accompanying old friend Tony Williamson as he receives the North Carolina Heritage Award. There will be a stellar cast on board.

Hector Berlioz’ monumental Grande Messe des morts (or Requiem) features choir, orchestra, four brass choirs, and four sets of timpani. Massive in both sound and scale, the Requiem will be the perfect capstone to the Chorale’s 75th season! Program notes on the work. Light Eternal Lauridsen Lux Aeterna with other choral selections Lux Aeterna, by well-known American choral composer Morten Lauridsen, blends sections of the Requiem Mass with three traditional Latin canticles to create a unified piece centered on the theme of light.
