Chapel Hill’s Glenn Jones is a well-traveled songwriter/performer/multi-instrumentalist, known both for his engaging solo shows, as well as bassist for acts like The Peter Holsapple Combo, The Goodloves, and many others. This is the official release for his third full-length album, “Ready for the Good Times”, 12 songs of love, life, laughs, and hope, continuing his musical path from longtime barroom rocking belter to rootsy soulful balladeer/storyteller. Recorded at The Rubber Room with acclaimed producer Jerry Brown, Ready for the Good Times utilized a who’s who of area pros, including Robbie Link (upright bass), Joe McPhail (keys and drums), John Boulding (dobro), Rebecca Newton, and Goodloves Nancy Middleton and Emma Davis, along with performances by Joseph Terrell and Libby Rodenbough on acoustic and fiddle (Mipso) and Andrew Marlin (Mandolin Orange).
The musical guests for the evening are stellar as well – John Saylor, Rebecca Newton and Barry Gray, The Goodloves, and Durham a cappella group Stella.
