Music from the Italian and German seventeenth century: the musical laments of Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643) and Matthias Weckmann (ca.1616-1674). Featuring the North Carolina Consort of Viols (led by Brent Wissick); Rosa Lamoreaux, soprano; Marc Callahan, baritone; and directed by Philip Cave. Presented by DUMIC (Duke University Musical Instrument Collections) as part of the Society of Seventeenth-Century Music conference 2019. Free and open to the public.
