What the L?

“WHAT THE L?”–10TH ANNUAL CABARET FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

  •
  • The Regulator Bookshop (map)

“What the L?” features songs by “L” composers and lyricists–think Lerner & Lowe, Burton Lane, Tom Lehrer, Michel Legrand, Frank Loesser, and more! It’s a surprisingly diverse group, with selections that range from heartbreaking ballads to swinging jazz to hilarious comedic numbers.

You can always count on Ellen to explore the nooks and crannies of the Great American Song Book to make things interesting, so you’ll also hear songs by Christine Lavin, Carolyn Leigh, John Lennon, Mitch Leigh, and lots of others.  You may think of “L” as being for “Love” on Valentine’s Day but you’ll Leave with a Lingering List of Lovely, Lively, Lusty, Lilting tunes!  Please join me, pianist Diane Petteway, bassist Robbie Link, and guitarist Bernie Petteway for what has become one of Durham’s most iconic Valentine’s events!

Tickets are $20, available in advance at The Regulator Bookshop (hours M-Sat 10-8, Sun 1-6), or online at the Brown Paper Tickets site—https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3914745

Don’t be afraid—Go To “L” for this one night—you’ll be glad you did!
