What the L?
February 1, 2019
“What the L?” features songs by “L” composers and lyricists–think Lerner & Lowe, Burton Lane, Tom Lehrer, Michel Legrand, Frank Loesser, and more! It’s a surprisingly diverse group, with selections that range from heartbreaking ballads to swinging jazz to hilarious comedic numbers.
You can always count on Ellen to explore the nooks and crannies of the Great American Song Book to make things interesting, so you’ll also hear songs by Christine Lavin, Carolyn Leigh, John Lennon, Mitch Leigh, and lots of others. You may think of “L” as being for “Love” on Valentine’s Day but you’ll Leave with a Lingering List of Lovely, Lively, Lusty, Lilting tunes! Please join me, pianist Diane Petteway, bassist Robbie Link, and guitarist Bernie Petteway in the intimate and relaxed setting of a lovely private home in Durham. The hosts will provide refreshments, too.
Tickets are $20 at the door. To reserve your spot, please drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The hosts will write back with specific information regarding your reservation. Since this is a private home, seating is limited, so don’t wait to make your reservation.
Don’t be afraid—Go To “L” for this one night—you’ll be glad you did!
